Concept of Affirmation in Judicial Assistance
In this context, a definition of Affirmation may be as follows: A solemn and formal declaration that an affidavit is true or that the witness will tell the truth; this declaration may usually be substituted for an oath in proceedings in U.S. courts. (See 22 CFR 92.18(b)).
