State of Georgia Telephone Directory provides up-to-date listings for state departments, authorities, commissions, colleges, universities and elected officials.

Attorney General

Opinions of the Attorney General provides a searchable database of opinions 1994+.

Banking & Finance, Department of

Banks, Holding Companies, Etc. – searchable by company name or city for registrations of representative offices of banks and holding companies, foreign banking organizations, trust companies, loan production offices, and out-of-state holding companies having a bank subsidiary with Georgia offices.

Deposit Demographics – searchable by city or county. “The FDIC requires each federally insured deposit institution to submit a report detailing the deposit volume at each of its banking offices. These reports are required once a year as of June 30th. The information is usually released near the end of the following October. Therefore, all the deposits shown in the subsequent report are as of June 30th of the indicated years. Also, all deposits are displayed in thousands (000’s omitted).”

Mortgage Administrative Actions – searchable by company/individual name or city – provides cease and desist orders, consent orders, and superior court injunctions outstanding on mortgage institutions and individuals.

Mortgage Licensee – searchable by licensee name or city.

Mortgage Notificants – searchable by notificant or city – “A ‘notificant’ is a wholly owned subsidiary of a lender authorized to engage in business as a bank, credit card bank, savings institution, building and loan association, or credit union under the laws of the United States, any state or territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia, the deposits of which are federally insured. A ‘notificant’ is exempt from licensing or registration under the Georgia Residential Mortgage Act, provided it keeps a current notification statement on file with the Department.”

Bureau of Investigations

Crime Statistics Database provides annual and monthly data since 1980 for counties and the entire state. The separately searchable Family Violence Statistics include “the names, sex, date of birth and relationship of the parties involved; the time, place and date of the incident; whether children were involved or whether the act of family violence was committed in the presence of children; the type and extent of alleged abuse; the existence of substance abuse; the number and types of weapons involved; the existence of any prior court orders; the number of complaints involving persons who have filed previous complaints; the type of police action taken; and any other information that may be pertinent.”

Georgia Sex Offender Registry provides search forms for predators, absconders, and sex offenders, searchable by offender name, street name, city, ZIP, or county.

Community Affairs, Department of

Georgia – Individual Community Profiles – Searchable by year (1998-) and county or city. Information includes demographic information and health and civic participation indicators.
Corrections, Department of

Inmate Query – Prisoners may be searched by name, aliases, gender, age, primary offense (incl abuse of gov’t office), sentence status, conviction county and more. Prisoner records include photos, offense details, project release dates, and aliases and identifying marks when available.

Natural Resources, Department of

Georgia Rare Species and Natural Community Information – Information designed for import into database tables. From the website, “Here you will find rare species and natural community data mainatained by our section. Our protected species lists conatain species protected at both the state and the federal level. Our special concern lists include federally protected, state protected and other rare or imperiled plants, animals, and natural communities tracked by the Nongame Conservation Section.”

University of Georgia

Digital Library of Georgia “is a gateway to Georgia’s history and culture found in digitized books, manuscripts, photographs, government documents, newspapers, maps, audio, video, and other resources. The Digital Library of Georgia connects users to 500,000 digital objects in 90 collections from 60 institutions and 100 government agencies.” e.g.:

Georgia Aerial Photographs – “provides online access to approximately 50,000 black and white aerial photographs and indexes of selected counties from the State of Georgia. The photos and indexes are from the Map Room of the University of Georgia Libraries, which has a collection of 225,000 aerial photographs of Georgia covering the period from 1938 through the 1980s.”
Georgia Government Publications (full-text state documents) “contains over 30,000 publications of agencies within the Georgia state government, covering years 1994 to the present. Types of materials included are annual reports, budget documents, periodicals, maps, posters, and videos.”
Vanishing Georgia – from the holdings of the Georgia Archives – “comprises nearly 18,000 photographs. Ranging from daguerreotypes to Kodachrome prints, the images span over 100 years of Georgia history.”
