Note: the date of this economic sanction is: MAY 7, 1971

On April 14, 1971, President Nixon announced changes in trade and travel restrictions with China. Effective May 7, 1971, foreign assets control regulations prohibiting currency transactions with China, including those related to travel, were lifted. Other changes included expedited visa processing for individuals and groups travelling to the United States [11]. On September 18, 1971, travel restrictions on United States-resident aliens were also lifted.
