Stint Definition

The proportionable part of a man’s cattle which he may keep upon the common. The general rule is that the commoner shall not turn more cattle upon the common than are sufficient to manure and stipendlalRY estates stock the land to which his right of common is annexed. There may be such a thing as common without stint or number; but this is seldom granted, and a grantee cannot grant it over. 3 Bl. Comm. 239; 1 Ld. Raym. 407.
