Reporting Statutes in the context of Juvenile and Family Law

Definition ofReporting Statutes, published by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges: State laws requiring certain designated persons (physicians, nurses, teachers and the like) to report to proper authorities suspected cases of child abuse and injuries inflicted by unlawful means. Such statutes commonly confer immunity from any liability on the person required to make the report.
