The right or power of locomotion, of changing situation, or moving one’s person to whatsoever place one’s own inclination may direct, without imprisonment or restraint, unless by due courst of law. 1 Bl. Its modern definition is wider, embracing the right of the individual to do as he pleases, unrestricted save by the right of the public to subordinate his freedom of action to the welfare of the public
