Definition of Operating Foundation
A concept of Operating Foundation applicable in the United States: A private foundation that uses the bulk of its income, usually earned from assets contributed by a single individual, family, or company, to provide charitable services or to run charitable programs of its own, as opposed to making grants to other organizations.
