Jus Accrescendi Definition
(Lat.) The right of survivorship. At common law, whan one of several joint tenants died, the entire tenancy or estate went to the survivors, and so on to the last survivor, who took an estate of inheritance. This right, except in estates held in trust, has been abolished by statute in most of the United States.
