Barter Definition

A contract by which parties exchange goods for goods. It differs from a sale in that a barter is always of goods for goods; a sale is of goods for money, or for money and goods. In a sale there is a fixed pi:ice; in a barter there is not. There must be a delivery of goods to complete the contract.
