In the U.S., in the context of the U.S. Congress (Senate and House of Representatives), U.s. Senate has the following meaning: The smaller of the two chambers of Congress (now 100 members), established in Article 1 of the Constitution, with its membership consisting of equal representation of the states in the union (two senators per state).
