Adjusted Community Rating in Health Care Law

A definition of Adjusted Community Rating is available here: A way of pricing insurance where premiums are not based upon a policyholder’s health status, but may be based upon other factors, such as age and geographic location. The Affordable Care Act requires the use of adjusted community rating, with maximum variation for age of 3:1 and for tobacco use of 1.5:1.
