Something unpaid. A debt, for example, is owing while it is unpaid, and whether it be due or not. In a business sense, in correspondence or contracts, a legal obligation is implied. In ordinary transactions between debtor and creditor it does not necessarily imply an enforceable obligation. 155 Mich. 567.
