In Maritime Law. That part of a ship’s apparel which ordinarily perishes or is consumed in the course of her voyage. Lowndes, Av. 11. In the Diplomatic Service. An allowance made by the government of the United States to a minister plenipotentiary, or charge des affaires, on going from the United States to any foreign country.
