Kain Definition
In Scotch law. A payment of fowls, etc., reserved in a lease. It is derived from canum, a word used in ancient grants to signify fowls or animals deliverable by the vassal to his superior as part of the reddendum. Ersk. Inst. 11. 10. 32; 2 Boss, Lect. 236, 405.
