A transfer tax affidavit is filed with the petition. This is a sworn statement about the totals of realty and personally affected by the will and of the names, amounts of legacies, residences, and relationship of those who receive gifts under the will. The affidavit supplies the state taxing authorities with data to be used by them for taxing purposes. It is typed on a printed form supplied by the taxing commissioner.
