House Agency

House Agency in United States

Practical Information

Note: Some of this information was last updated in 1982

A fictional collection establishment created by a creditor to convey the impression that it is an independent and bona fide collection agency (in U.S. law). It is but a name and address used by the creditor for its final collection effort. The advantage is that by use of the “agency’s” stationery the creditor can press with all the vigor of a regular collection agency. See also collections (in U.S. law).
