Circuit Court Of Appeals Definition

A federal court created in 1891 in each circuit (q.v.), consisting of three judges, and having final appellate jurisdiction of cases from the circuit and district courts except in certain cases. The court was designed to relieve the supreme court of the United States. See Act Cong. March 3, 1891.
