Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) Legal Materials
The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (“CFP Board”) licenses and regulates Financial Planners authorized to use the initials “CFP.” The Board’s Web site provides information about the Board, about financial planning and about CFP certification (www.cfp.net). The site posts a CFP Code of Ethics, Professional Standards and Disciplinary Rules (www.cfp.net/Certificants/conduct.asp) and a look-up to locate CFPs (www.cfp.net/search).
Executive Order 13530
Executive Order in relation with the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability (January 29, 2010).
The Council will provide advice to the President on promoting and enhancing financial literacy and capability among the American people. This effort is important to help keep America competitive and assist the American people in understanding and addressing financial matters, which contributes to our national financial stability.
The Council has been tasked with a number of specific charges, including advising the President on: financial education efforts; promoting financial products and services that are beneficial to consumers, especially low- and moderate-income consumers; and promoting understanding of effective use of such products and services.
