Legislature

• West Virginia Code – A searchable database of West Virginia statutes by keyword. Resource may also be browsed. A Personalized Bill Tracking option to search the status or the full text of current bills is also available. This site also gives access to the Code of Rules and West Virginia Register.

Judicial Branch

• Opinions of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia – Searchable database of Supreme Court opinions from 1991 to the present. Database may be searched by case number, party name, topical keyword, attorney, lower court judge, and other terms from the full text of opinions. This site also offers a free e-mail list of new opinions.

Executive Branch

Secretary of State

• Code of State Rules – Searchable database of regulations. May be searched by title/series, agency, rule name or keyword. May also be browsed by category.
• Charity or Professional Fundraiser Search – Search by type, name or city. Search results include address of organization. Records include contact information, whether the organization has a current license and an organization profile indicating what the organization does and what other states it is active in. Also includes contributes by WV residents compared with everyone else and a note of current disbursements.
• Corporations Search – Location information about businesses by business name.
• Current Licensee Search – Searchable Database of professional licenses (Minister, Athletic Agent, Security Guard and Private Investigator]. Searchable by name, firm, type of license and county.
• Election Results – Database searchable by drop down boxes provide returns from 2002 to present. Searchable by year, party, office, district and division.
• Status of Process Search – Searchable database to check whether suit documents have been served on defendents. Searchable by case number or defendant name. Results include date served or attempted, who signed and response codes and notes.
• Trademark Search – Check for state registered trademarks by WV Serial #, Applicant Name, Description, Words, Shapes, Figures, or Status. Results include contact information for Trademark holder.

West Virginia Health Care Authority

• Inpatient condensed database – Searchable databases of patient discharges. There is a separate database for every year since 2000 which can be searched by many criteria, including sex, age, diagnosis, procedure, provider type and payor group. Database includes this disclaimer, “Data elements which alone are not sufficient to identify an individual, but which in combination raise unacceptable possibilities that patients could be identified, are classified as protected. All data will be released only in cell sizes greater than thirty. Data with cells with thirty or fewer cases will be suppressed”

West Virginia University

• WVU Directory is a searchable directory of faculty, staff, and students at WVU. The WVU Directory will identify the campus, department, title, phone number, e-mail address, and mailing address of the person you are looking for.
