Failure to Thrive Syndrome (f.t.t.) in the context of Juvenile and Family Law

Definition ofFailure to Thrive Syndrome (f.t.t.), published by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges: A serious medical condition in which a child’s height, weight and motor development are significantly below average for his or her age. Usually, though not invariably, found in children less than one year old. The syndrome may have an organic cause, or it may be caused by severe emotional or physical neglect.
