Pourparty Definition
(Law Fr.; Law Lat. propars, propartis, propartia). In old English law. Division; a divided share. Literally, “for,” or as “divided” (pour parti) ; a close translation of the Latin phrase pro diviso. To make pourparty is to divide and sever the lands that fall to parceners, which, before partition, they held jointly and pro indiviso, Cowell.
