Louisiana Database Catalog – This is a searchable database of official databases, reports and related information resources required to support the policy, planning, and administrative needs of the state. The catalog record for each database provides the title and a direct link to the database/information resource. Also provided are the originator/author of the database, as well as, an abstract, notes, keywords, subject heading(s)/categories, the format, the update schedule, and contact information for the database. Note: This catalog contains governmental resources from state, local and federal sources.

Louisiana State Museum Map Database – From the website, “The Louisiana State Museumâ??s cartographic holdings, comprised of original works as well as photostat, photographic and facsimile reproductions, are dated 1525 to the present. Many of these works are housed in the special collections of Dr. and Mrs. E. Ralph Lupin, Helen and Solis Seiferth, Machrina Francois, Gladys Mossmeir, and Gaspar Cusachs. The museumâ??s collection contains maps related to the exploration and settlement of Louisiana during the colonial period as well as maps delineating Louisiana and her cities after the Louisiana Purchase, from 1803 to the present time.”

Records include historic name, other names, city, parish, date registered, address, documents and pictures when available.

Map archives database – From the website, “The LDEQ GIS Center has made thousands of maps and other products over the years. Many of these products are archived on a computer system that LDEQ staff may now browse gigabytes of map images and search a database containing details about layers in each map, the map author, customer requesting the map, notes, comments. The map product archives attached to this web site include products authored between January 1, 1999-present. Most of these products are maps in Adobe PDF format, and many of these PDF files are very large (up to several hundred megabytes). A smaller JPEG format file is provided. However, not all maps in the achives are available in JPEG or PDF file format. Some maps were authored with a previous version of ArcView (and/or with now unsupported and unavailable library datasets), and it may currently be too expensive to reproduce such maps electronically.”
Statewide Water Quality Assessments – from http://www.awra.org/committees/techcom/watershed/pdfs/0302WU.pdf, “The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) maintains a statewide water quality database that compiles discrete sample data collected from over 600 monitoring locations across the state. The state agency continues to collect water samples from Louisianaâ??s bayous, streams, rivers, and lakes for chemical and physical property analyses.”
