Lollards Definition

A body of primitive Wesleyans, who assumed importance about the time of John WyclifFe. (1360), and were very successful in disseminating evangelical truth; but, being implicated (apparently against their will) in the insurrection of the villeins in 1381, the statute De Haeretico Comhurevdo (2 Hen. IV. c. 15) was passed against them, for their suppression. Brown.
