Concept of License Exception in Foreign Trade

A definition of License Exception in relation with foreign trade is provided here: An authorization that allows a USPPI or other appropriate party to export or re-export under stated conditions, items subject to the EAR that would otherwise require a license under the EAR. The BIS License Exceptions are currently contained in Part 740 of the EAR (15 CFR 740).
