Introduction to John Lowell

John Lowell (1743-1802), American jurist and legislator, born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and educated at Harvard College (now Harvard University). He began to practice law in 1762. He was a delegate to the Massachusetts constitutional convention in 1779-80 and to the Congress of the Confederation in 1782-83. He also held several important judicial posts after 1789.” (1)
