Progressive or Graduated Taxes

Taxes for which the rate increases as the income, or some other taxable base, increases. Graduated tax rates are found in taxes on individual incomes, corporation incomes, estates and inheritances. See income tax (in U.S. law);estate tax (in U.S. law); inheritance taxes (in U.S. law).
