Enfranchisement Definition
Giving freedom to a person; admitting a person to the freedom of a city. A denizen of England, or a citizen of London, is said to be enfranchised. So, too, a villein is enfranchised when he obtains his freedom from his lord. Termes de la Ley; 11 Coke, 91; Jacob.
