Futures Contracts

A futures contract is an agreement to sell or buy something at a future date. In most cases, that “something” is a specific quantity of a commodity, such as “10,000 barrels of crude oil.”

Contracts in the U.S. Code: Title 18, Part I, Chapter 23

The current, permanent, in-force federal laws regulating contracts are compiled in the United States Code under Title 18, Part I, Chapter 23. It constitutes “prima facie” evidence of statutes relating to Crimes and Criminal Law (including contracts) of the United States.
