Chambers Definition
Rooms or apartments. The private room of the judge. Any hearing before a judge which does not take place during a term of court, or while the judge is sitting in court, or an order issued under such circumstances, is said to be “in chambers.” The act may be an official one, and the hearing may be in the court room; but if the court is not in session, it is still said to be done “in chambers.” In England. The office of a barrister. An association of persons habitually meeting together, as a chamber of commerce.
