Archaionomia Definition

The name of a collection of Saxon laws published during the reign of the English Queen Elizabeth, in the Saxon language, with a Latin version, by Mr. Lambard. Dr. Wilkins enlarged this collection in his work entitled “Leges Anglo-Saxonicae,” containing all the Saxon laws extant, together with those ascribed to Edward the Confessor, in Latin; those of William the Conqueror, in. Norman and Latin; and of Henry I., Stephen, and Henry II., in Latin.
