Lawyer´s Alcoholism
Studies keep showing that rates of substance abuse within the profession are as much as 50 percent above the general population’s. But explanations are all over the map. One expert suggests that lawyers are more adept at living in prolonged states of denial about their addiction because of how large their egos are. Another talks about the adversarial nature of the profession as a causal variable. And still another mentions all the happy hours and receptions that lawyers are invited to–not to mention the stress and ridiculous workloads.
