Administrative Law, Office of

New Jersey Administrative Code and Register – The Code, which is updated quarterly on this site, may be searched or browsed. The information included may be updated by the Register, which is also searchable, in order to allow users to confirm the currentness of the information in the Code.

Attorney General, Office of

  • Business License Database – Searchable by type of license (Accountant, dentist, master plumber and many more), first name, last name or city. Records include name, partial address, license number, license status and license expiration date.
  • Directory of Registered Charities – Searchable by name alone. Records include contact information and a breakdown of expenses and income. Also gives date of latest report.

Banking and Insurance, Department of

Licensee Search – “This search can be used to obtain name, mailing address, license reference number, type and status on persons and organizations licensed with the NJ Department of Banking & Insurance.”

Community Affairs, Department of

Mayors Directory – Search by county, municipality, or mayor’s name to retrieve contact information and term of office.

Corrections, Department of

Offender Search Form – This inmate locator offers extensive search options, including hair color, eye color, race, and date of birth or age. Database records include photos, which may be disabled for faster search access.

Environmental Protection, Department of

  • New Jersey Environmental Digital Library – “NJEDL is an online library of environmental literature and multimedia related to New Jersey. The collection includes documents and reports, scientific studies, photographs, videos, maps, and more.” The project is a collaboration between the Rutgers University Libraries and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Recreation and Open Space Inventory – From the site, “the ROSI lists all Green Acres-funded properties (“funded parkland”) as well as all other lands held for conservation and/or recreation purposes at the time the Local Unit last received funding from Green Acres (“unfunded parkland”).”
  • Solid & Hazardous Waste Landfill Database – This database provides multiple search options for locating information on landfill locations and the status of landfills. Search options include Name, County, Old ID Number, New ID Number, CSL (Comprehensive Site List) Number, Street Address, Municipality, City, Block Number, Lot Number, Landfill Type (Private or Government), If it is on the the NPL (National Priorities List – Superfund Site), Pinelands Type, Watershed Area, Operating Status, Date Ceased operation, NJPDES Number, Acreage, Waste Types Accepted and if it was Properly Closed (T=Yes / F=No).

Legislature

  • Bill Search – The home page of the NJ Legislature includes this search interface for NJ State Legislative Session Bills from 1996 to the present. Search options include Bill Number(s), Legislative Session, Subject, Sponsor, Keyword, Last Date Of Action, and Governor’s Action.
  • Permanent Statutes Database – This version of the complete unannotated New Jersey Statutes may be searched or browsed.

Minority & Women Business Development, Division of

Self Declared Small, Minority, and Women Business Enterprises – An online directory which includes summary information for each business.

Public Employment Relations Commission

Public Sector Contracts Database – Record of labor contracts for state, municipalities and school districts in New Jersey. According to the website, “All contracts are searchable by Employer Name, Organization Name, Contract Term, Employer Category and Unit Description. The text of a contract submitted since January 2005 is also searchable if the Public Employer provided an electronic copy.” A browseable version is also available.

Transportation, Department of

New Jersey Bicycle/Pedestrian Project Database – Activated in 2005 to provide information to assist in planning, designing, building and maintaining facilities for bicyclists and pedestrians, the database contains information submitted by individuals and agencies on project type, location, cost and funding. The database is not all-inclusive.
Treasury, Department of

New Jersey State Business Gateway Service – From the website, “The New Jersey Business Gateway Service (NJBGS) provides you with immediate access to vital business information. You can learn the status and business address(es) of a registered business entity, or access the State’s Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) index on-line to obtain status reports on active UCC financing statements. You may also look up registered trade names and trade/service marks on file with the State of New Jersey.”
