The CCH Trade Regulation Reporter compiles most of the relevant primary U.S. legal materials, including FTC complaints and orders and some Department of Justice materials. The Reporter is available in print as a multi-volume looseleaf and on Lexis(CCH;CCHTRD), Westlaw (CCH-TRR) and the subscription-based CCH Antitrust & Trade Regulation Integrated Library on Intelliconnect.

The Federal Trade Commission’s Web site post a large amount of antitrust related information. To find antitrust cases, see the Cases And Proceedings page, and then use the “Mission” filter on the left to limit to antitrust cases. For antitrust advisory opinions, see the Advisory Opinions page and then use the “Topic” filter to limit to antitrust opinions. FTC Watch is searchable on Lexis back to July 1990 (TRADE;FTCWAT). Westlaw has a database of antitrust-related news articles (ATRNEWS). Law360 (which has been adquired by one of the 2 big vendors) has a Competition news alert.

The leading treatise on antitrust law is the multi-volume Antitrust Law: An Analysis of Antitrust Principles and Their Application, written by Phillip E. Areeda and Herbert Hovenkamp, published by Aspen.

A publication called GCR Global Competition Review does a number of antitrust-related surveys including an annual ranking (and discussion) of national antitrust authorities and Country Surveys covering antitrust enforcement in various counties, including the US. They also produce the GCR 100, a ranking of the top 100 antitrust law firms in the world.

State Laws: The antitrust laws of all states are republished in the CCH’s Trade Regulation Reporter and in the ABA’s State Antitrust Practice and Statutes, which provides 25 pages of commentary for each state. To find state antitrust case law, look in an annotated edition of the relevant state’s statutory code.

Foreign Laws: EU antitrust laws, cases and other materials are available through the Europa Competition page. The page also provides legislation, cases and other materials relating to the regulation of mergers. The EU edition of Mlex provides detailed coverage of EU cases and other antitrust news, and organizes the information into a searchable database that can be used either for background research or as a business development tool.

Several volumes in the Getting the Deal Through series (print and online) explain various aspects of antitrust law for individual foreign countries. According to theEncyclopedia of the American Constitution, about its article titled ANTITRUST LAWFederal antitrust law comprises a set of acts of Congress, administrative regulations, and court decisions that attempt to regulate market structure and competitive behavior in the national economy.
