Here are some options for getting attorney general opinions if what you need isn’t available in your library.

Free Web Sites: The Department of Justice posts selected U.S. Attorney General opinions. AG opinions for most states are posted on the Web site of the state’s Attorney General’s office. Links to state AG websites are posted by the National Association of Attorney Generals. For state-specific information, see entries for individual states by name.

Online Databases: U.S. Attorney General opinions are available back to 1791 onLexis (GENFED;USAG) and Westlaw (USAG), Loislaw and Hein Online. AG opinions from all states are searchable on Lexis, Westlaw and Hein Online. Other options for state AG options: Loislaw and LLMC Digital, which is available through many academic library websites and some other larger law libraries (e.g., Jenkins Law Library, New York Law Institute).

Document Delivery/ILL: Borrow the volumes or get copies of opinions from a law school library in the respective state (see the relevant state entry in this Guide). Note: U.S. Attorney General opinions are published in Official Opinions of the Attorneys General of the United States.
